Skills, Abilities, and Experience we are looking for:

  • 1-2 years of prior experience in childcare
  • Post-Secondary school degree
  • Organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors. Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity.

As an Assistant Director at The Orchard School, you will play a vital role in partnering with the Center Director to ensure the operational excellence of our center. Your leadership skills will be essential in driving financial performance, fostering a nurturing environment for both children and staff, and maintaining strong relationships with parents.

Role Responsibilities:

 

Business Operations and People Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the Center Director to drive financial performance and productivity across all operational aspects of the center.
  • Assist in the recruitment of outstanding talent, ensuring the center is fully staffed with high-performing teachers.
  • Manage labor effectively, approving work schedules to maintain appropriate ratios at all times.
  • Forecast future enrollment based on annual graduation rates.
  • Oversee center inventory, including office supplies, curriculum materials, and staff recognition items.
  • Ensure accuracy in parent billings, account receivables, and collections.
  • Conduct team meetings in partnership with the Center Director to communicate important information and set direction.

Customer Engagement:

  • Execute marketing brand campaigns within the center and implement local marketing activities.
  • Utilize social media channels effectively for parent engagement and retention.
  • Lead tours for potential families, highlighting key features of our brand and maintaining strong connections with customers.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of childcare offerings within the community.
  • Coordinate the registration process and maintain customer and employee information in center systems.
  • Plan parent and staff events to foster engagement and build relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, BA preferred
  • At least 2 years of Early Childhood Education experience required, with an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and the ability to ensure its use in the classroom
  • A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, verbal, listening, and communication skills required
  • CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Must meet state specific guidelines for the role
  • Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors. Substitute Preschool Teacher – The Orchard School

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with other teachers in the assigned classroom and center to ensure the successful operation of the classroom.

  • Follow all policies and procedures related to health, safety, nutrition, and other aspects of center operations.
